Before mankind succeeded in capturing and fixing an image on a sensitized support, techniques such as the camera obscura and the magic lantern were already projecting images in shows known as “phantasmagorias”. Indeed, the first images known to have been projected were those depicting death, hell or monsters.
This installation superimposes two images, projected on either side of a single screen. As you pass in front of the abstract projection, the image of the projector behind is revealed, presenting a ghostly body in motion.
