I have always been interested in photography as an extension of the eye; from Muybridge’s experiments in the 19th century to the infrared vision of the James Webb Telescope, and even the most mundane act of reaching for a cell phone camera in hard-to-reach places, photography continues to astonish the world by revealing what the eye alone cannot see.
espectros is a photo-sculptural series that juxtaposes my home/studio in Rio with the dual meaning of the title (referencing both a phantasmagoric presence and the electromagnetic spectrum), to reveal the hidden images behind my walls.
